Designing the brand identity and building online systems for a UNESCO Conference.

Role & Impact

  • Created and executed the brand identity and digital presence of the international HCI conference
  • As a conference Chair, I worked with other Chairs to plan and produce the event
  • Collaborated with a team of designers to define the conference branding for digital and print media
  • Led and supervised a team to deliver the website, online payment systems, media production, and social media strategy of the event
  • Programmed and developed some parts of the website hands-on.

The Conference was centered on the theme, "Global Thoughts, Local Designs," with the research focussed on HCI for emerging economies, socio-economic development, low-literacy users, and the bottom of the pyramid.

The event branding was created using indigenous patterns, motifs, and shapes, that could be adapted to multiple digital and print scenarios. The design was scalable enough to be unique in every context, and at the same time ensuring its connection to the primary theme. This work was done in collaboration with Shweta Kamble and Divya Bhardwaj.

INTERACT is among the world's top conferences in Human-Computer Interaction, organised under the aegis of the Technical Committee 13 on Human-Computer Interaction of the UNESCO International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).
